Garage On York is an open, flexible space available for rental by the half-day, full-day or week & is designed for photo/video/commercial shoots, creative off sites, corporate meetings, workshops, and also special DIY milestone occasions. (*We rent by the hour within 7 days at discount prices for smaller photographer/client photo shoots.)
We allow our clients the flexibility to handle food/drinks however they wish by not requiring preferred vendors, caterers or in-house staff, so you can better control those costs. If you are looking for a full-service experience (catering, craft service, crew, equipment, meeting supplies, logistics, etc.), we are happy to arrange for a separate fee.
Up to 40 seated is a comfortable number for meetings in Garage on York. For corporate mixers and evening social gatherings, we can accommodate up to about 125 but this also depends on the amount of tables needed. Consider adding the Backlot or KTCHN spaces, which would enable us to increase these numbers. We have seating for up to 40 but could source additional.
Each rental is unique and there are several variables that determine final rental rate (size of group, complexity of the project, special requests etc.). We ask that you fill out the Contact page with as much information as possible and we will be in touch with an initial quote.
Your rental agreement is from arrival to departure. We ask that you include time for set up and clean up. (1st person in to last person out.) Be sure to estimate an accurate amount of time when booking.
We sometimes have flexibility and will try to make your experience as smooth as possible however these details should be discussed before we put your quote together so we can price accordingly.
Most of our clients’ needs for their events/shoots are DIY style and/or self-sufficient. We will meet you upon arrival, get you situated and make sure you have everything you need. After that we will be offsite but available if you need anything. Your load-out and walk-through will be right before your booked time expires unless extra time is requested in advance.
We have a private off street parking lot next to the building (south side, 22 spaces) and additional on street parking (also free) along York and/or 7th. You may also park in front of the garage door. After 5pm during the week and all day on weekends you may also park in the large parking lot (free) directly across the street (National Band and Tag). Note: The 1st Tuesday and Wednesday of the month 8am-12pm there is no parking on the streets due to street cleaning day. See street signs for additional details.
Yes, Garage on York allows you that flexibility however we do have our favorite local chefs and vendors who know our space well and do an amazing job. Let us know what type of food/vision you have and your budget so we can connect you to the appropriate options. Food trucks are also a great option weather permitting if you plan to have the garage door open.

No, Garage on York does not have a liquor license. You may BYO/set up a bar as long as you are not selling alcohol, it’s a private event and you’re not selling tickets to get into your event. You may also hire a bartending service or caterer with a license to serve alcohol in Kentucky. We are happy to provide recommendations.

Due to the possibility of the space being rented at any time, showings are by appointment only and subject to change based on last minute bookings.
No, our kitchens are unlicensed and are set up like residential kitchens. They are meant more for light prep, warming and serving.
